Six months in country!
This week was somewhat of a vacation but we still had to wake up at 6am everyday and install filters, so not really. We spent it in Danli helping the visiting group of Hands to Honduras installing filters at Las Crucitas ( 13° 56' 12.9"N, 86° 45' 3.1"W). Las Crucitas is a mountainous community and it seemed like every house was uphill. This trip came at such a great time because Rasa and I needed a brush-up on installing filters before we start our installations next week. Also during this week was our week-long CAWST training for all of Pure Water's employees. We were sad to have missed it because it was such a great time for everyone to meet and compare stories. Friday, we drove with the Foxes to Tela. We were there to sign the final grant paperwork and review the communities that would be served, which we did on Saturday. On Sunday, I left Tela at 4:30am to drop the Foxes off at the airport and then drive back to Danli for a meeting and see if Jeff would get to ride a bull. He didn't and then we had to drive all the way back to La Ceiba to meet Dick Thompson, a total of 17 hours.
But the worst thing about this week was that my very sentimental Peace Corps Philippines hat and 1GB Memory Stick went missing from our hotel room in the Granada Hotel Danli. And it wasn't only me who had something missing, other people also reported tape recorders, money, pocket knives, hair clips, etc. missing. Lock up your stuff if you go there!

So nice to have a wide selection of home cooked American food in Tegucigalpa

A local bathroom, make sure to bring your own TP

First, we tried to roll the filters uphill...

Then we tried to carry them...

Then we just decided to play with the kids
